ALL MY PUPPIES
Several years ago, my wife and I lived in a little one bedroom apartment. My wife had just worked the all night shift. Meanwhile, I was at home waiting for her to pull into the complex. She usually made it in between 7:00am to 7:30am. When she was late getting home, I began to worry a little bit. But, sometimes it took a little longer getting out of work than normal and so I didn't really think anything was too much out of the ordinary.
After about twenty minutes, I heard my wife fiddling with her keys on the balcony outside, so I got up to open the door. When I pulled the door open, there she stood with a milk crate filled with puppies. My jaw nearly hit the floor. My wife then proceeded to tell me how someone left this crate full of puppies outside the back door of her work in the cold January air. Well, she couldn't just leave them there to freeze and starve, so she brought them home.
Since I wasn't working at the time, I agreed to bottle feed and care for the little pups. And boy were they ever adorable. After a few weeks, they grew bigger and stronger and they really needed to find permanent homes. So, we posted the dogs on Craigslist for a nominal re-homing fee to recoup some of our initial costs. By the time the dogs were gone, we pulled in around $225.00 for all five puppies. And the rest was history. In the next three years, we made more money flipping puppies than we could shake a stick at.
